Biography

Kyla received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from California State University, Northridge and went on to attend the USC Keck School of Medicine where she earned a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. She specializes in joint replacements, surgical assisting and wound closure and care.

Before joining Ventura Orthopedics in 2012, Kyla worked seven years at Sports Medicine Workers Comp for the LAPD and four years at Valley Hip & Knee Institute specializing in total joint replacements. At Ventura Orthopedics, she was Dr. Davis’ physician assistant for four and a half years and returned in 2017 on a per diem basis to work UrgentOrtho.

Kyla is fascinated by the body and its capability to perform and heal. She believes the mind is a powerful tool and a positive person will get better and heal faster than someone who has a negative outlook. Kyla focuses on patient education so the patient can understand their condition and how to proceed with treatment.

Born in Encino, Kyla moved to Simi Valley when she was three and has lived there ever since. In her free time, she loves to tap dance (even though no classes are currently available), go boating and camping with her family and friends, take long walks with her dog Baxter, attend Pilates a couple times a week, garden and grow a large variety of fruits and vegetables, and eat sushi.
